The East Valley is a loosely defined region on the eastern side of the Phoenix metropolitan area that commonly includes Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Queen Creek, and San Tan Valley. Dr. Christian Eccles is a fellowship-trained, board-certified surgeon who focuses on hip and knee replacement and sees patients from across the region at two Gilbert offices.

Both offices are open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to noon. From central Phoenix, US 60 east through Tempe and Mesa leads to the North Gilbert office in about 35 to 45 minutes outside peak traffic. Patients in the southern East Valley usually find the South Gilbert office closer.

Knee Replacement
Total knee replacement is the main surgical treatment for advanced knee arthritis. Dr. Eccles offers robotic knee replacement with the handheld TMINI® Miniature Robotic System and considers minimally invasive and muscle and tendon-sparing techniques where appropriate. Revision knee replacement corrects implants that have worn, loosened, or become infected.
Hip Replacement
Total hip replacement is performed through an anterior or posterior approach based on your anatomy. During surgery, OrthoGrid Hip AI navigation helps assess cup position, leg length, and offset on X-ray images. Revision hip replacement is available for failed or worn hip implants.
Recovery Pathways
Same-day outpatient joint replacement is an option for healthy patients who meet medical and therapy criteria, while revisions typically need at least one overnight stay. Fast recovery knee surgery and narcotic-free knee replacement combine regional anesthesia, non-opioid medications, and early movement to support a comfortable recovery.
